Become a Webcam Model in San Diego

Are you age 18 or older, and in need of money… lots of money? Webcam modeling is by no means the only type of modeling that 619 Models do, but for a new model that’s just starting out, there is a slew of benefits to this particular type of modeling work. As San Diego’s premier model & talent management Company, it’s our obligation to educate you – here and now – on the basics of why, where & how to become a webcam model in San Diego. Let’s begin with “the why”…

Why Become a Webcam Model in San Diego?

With the 12th-highest cost-of-living amongst all cities in the United States (https://www.expatistan.com/cost-of-living/index/north-america), San Diego is notoriously a very expensive place to live. At the same time, the modeling & entertainment industries are the most competitive industries to enter & become successful in, in the world – even more so than professional sports.

When done properly, webcam modeling can take care of both of these intricacies. Here are 11 of the many benefits you’ll experience when you become a webcam model in San Diego:

  1. Establish a large, guaranteed, weekly income – your average hourly income from webcam modeling will far exceed that which other young people your age are earning
  2. Establish a large, personal base of PAYING fans, not just a bunch of “followers”
  3. Boost your on & off-camera confidence
  4. Flexible hours – great for students (with over 50 colleges and universities in the San Diego area, this is pretty important to note) (http://study.com/san_diego%2C_california_%28ca%29_colleges.html) – set your own schedule, and alter it as your class schedule changes or during finals
  5. 100% safe – work under an assumed name; your anonymity is always protected
  6. Be your own boss – Don’t stress out over annoying coworkers or bosses!
  7. Internet modeling is GREEN (environmentally-friendly) – Work from home = no commute = no pollution
  8. Minimal overhead required
  9. Minimal training needed – no need for trade school or special certifications or licenses
  10. No background checks
  11. No education needed – not even a GED or high school diploma

A key phrase above is “when done properly”. Webcam modeling has been a “thing” for over a decade. Just as with anything else in life, there are bad, good, better and best ways of doing it. At 619 Modeling, we actually don’t even refer to this occupation as “webcam modeling” because that typically connotates something that is done as a hobby or “side hustle / side job”. “Webcam models” typically work for “tokens” instead of actual money, and it’s just something that isn’t too guaranteed.

At 619Modeling.com, our beginner models start out as professional internet models. 619 Models enjoy a large, immediate, guaranteed income, and they work for actual money, not tokens. Internet modeling, on the other hand (compared to traditional “webcam modeling”), is something that is to be respected & admired. We have models in their early twenties with their own $2,000 / month apartments in Mission Valley, San Diego (no roommates), making payments on fancy cars, and this is ALL provided to them through the income they make doing just 15 to 20 hours-per-week of professional internet modeling.

Where to Become a Webcam Model in San Diego

Professional internet modeling is a work-from-home job. The ideal situation is to have your own apartment, or at least your own private bedroom. (We shall continue to use the term “webcam modeling” for the remainder of this article, to avoid confusion, although we are referring to “professional internet modeling” when we do so.)

If you don’t have your own apartment yet, then you’ll need at least 15 to 20 hours per week of privacy, where you can do your work (webcam modeling does require a bit of nudity and talking aloud with your customers).

The ideal internet connection is going to be a fiber optic one. Currently, in the U.S., fiber optic internet is provided by Verizon FiOS and Google Fiber. AT&T sometimes lies to its customers, telling them that they are on a “fiber optic network”, but that just means that the internet is distributed throughout the neighborhood with fiber, but it’s not actually fiber to your home. (Your AT&T internet will be slow as f***, and – as a bonus – you’ll likely be tied down to an overpriced contract.) In San Diego, some apartment buildings offer a version of Google Fiber called Webpass. You can check if your apartment complex offers this service here: https://webpass.net/san_diego/

The second-best internet to have, to become a webcam model in San Diego, is through your local cable company. In San Diego, you’re likely going to have either Cox or Time Warner Spectrum in your neighborhood. To check the provider for your particular address, visit https://www.cablemover.com/. It is NOT necessary to order TV or phone service through these providers, just high-speed internet.

The last (not recommended) type of residential internet to have, in order to become a webcam model in San Diego, is DSL. DSL is provided usually by AT&T and some other companies. We do not recommend DSL or AT&T.

Also necessary is an external webcam. Your computer’s built-in webcam is not sufficient. We recommend a Logitech 4K camera or at least a Logitech C920, at the minimum.

You do NOT need to wait to apply before acquiring these items. If you are selected to have your application moved forward, your rep will help you with the purchase decisions for new electronics for this job.
